چکیده
Diversifying aquaculture in Saudi Arabia with the inclusion of finfish species already reared Mediterranean Sea requires a sufficient understanding preferences and limits cultured fish under local conditions. This study was conducted using three species, juveniles (135–155g), meager (Argyrosomus regius), European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax), greater amberjack (Seriola dumerili), to assess their growth performance high temperatures for three-month-long thermal trials. Each trial performed triplicates recirculating system, while temperature ranges, 24°C–25°C, 28°C–29°C, 33°C–34°C, were tested, representing average Red Seas. Both similarly between first two temperatures, indicating that optimum range lies within window. Growth indicates it is lower than seabass. The amberjack’s similar temperatures. tolerance 33°C all species. appeared have notable differences preferable performance. findings this can be used improve feed efficiency farming ranges ranging from 24°C–28°C.

15 صفحه اولMaximum cardiac performance and adrenergic sensitivity of the sea bass Dicentrarchus labrax at high temperatures.
We examined maximum cardiac performance of sea bass Dicentrarchus labrax acclimated to 18 degrees C and 22 degrees C, temperatures near the optimum for growth of this species. Our aim was to study whether cardiac performance, especially the effect of adrenergic stimulation, differed when compared to salmonids. Sea bass and salmonids are both athletic swimmers but their cardiac anatomy differs m...
متن کاملQuality Performance of 'Smyrna' Type Figs Grown under Mediterranean Conditions of Tunisia
‘Smyrna’ type figs (Zidi ‘ZD’: dark fruit and Thgagli ‘THG’; Bidhi ‘BD’ and Khedri ‘KHD’: white fruit) originated from two areas of fig production in Tunisia were subject to physico-chemical description and spectrophotometric analysis for their sugar (glucose, fructose and sucrose) and organic acid (citric and malic) contents. Fruit weight ranged between 54 and 82 g, fruit width between 47 and ...

Pyrethrum is a perennial daisy grown commercially for the insecticide that is extracted from its flowers. In order to evaluate germination and seedling growth of pyrethrum under different temperature and drought stress treatments, an experiment was conducted in seed technology laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture of Islamic Azad University of Isfahan branch in 2018. During this experiment, poly...
متن کاملA high resolution free surface model of the Mediterranean Sea
This study describes a new model implementation for the Mediterranean Sea with what is currently the highest vertical resolution over the Mediterranean basin. The resolution is of 1/16×1/16 in the horizontal and has 72 unevenly spaced vertical levels. This model has been developed in the frame of the EU-MFSTEP project and is the operational forecast model currently used at the basin scale. The ...
